Hi, I'm Janet.

Photographer. Business Strategist. Problem Solver. Your Biggest Cheerleader.

I've spent more than 20 years building a successful photography business, and if there's one thing I've learned, it's that being a great photographer and running a great photography business are two very different skills.

I love photography. But I also love figuring out how to make a business work better.

I was a businesswoman first.

Before I ever picked up a camera professionally, I'd already built a career in business and technology. With a degree in business, a background in software development and technology marketing, and leadership roles including Vice President of IT New Media at The Weather Channel and Assistant Vice President of IT at SunTrust Banks, I brought a different perspective to the photography industry.

When I started my photography business more than 20 years ago, I understood the importance of marketing, customer relationships, efficient systems, and making smart financial decisions. And I knew that talent alone wasn't enough to create a sustainable business.

Over the years, I've combined that business experience with my love of photography to build and maintain a successful six-figure photography business. I've photographed everything from weddings and families to corporate events, headshots, and commercial projects, while personally managing the business behind the scenes. That combination has given me a perspective that I think is especially valuable: I understand both the creative side of photography and the business strategy that makes it profitable.

And I've learned that success isn't necessarily about having the biggest studio, booking the most clients, or working the longest hours. It's about building a business that's profitable, sustainable, and designed around the life you want to live.
